Ismail Rahman

Fukushima University, Japan

 

Dr. Ismail Rahman completed his PhD at Kanazawa University, Japan. Currently, he is a Professor at the Institute of Environmental Radioactivity, Fukushima University, Japan. Prior to joining his current institution, he served as a faculty member at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and as a researcher at Kanazawa University. He was a recipient of the Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship, TokyoTech-UNESCO research fellowship, and JSPS postdoctoral fellowship. His research bridges material science and environmental engineering, with a specific focus on developing functional materials for pollutant separation and sensing. His work includes the study of the ecological dynamics of radionuclides in agroecosystems, the design of low-energy remediation technologies, and the implementation of sustainable waste management practices. Dr. Rahman has published more than 170 scientific journal papers and edited academic books, including “Environmental Remediation Technologies for Metal-Contaminated Soils” (Springer). He is currently serving as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports (Springer Nature) and Minerals (MDPI). He is also serving as a Collaborative Professor at Kanazawa University, Japan.
